THE BEST (CURATED BY US) MARCH 2024

THE BEST WAYS TO BE HAPPY

We’re starting every morning this month thinking about (and doing) what makes us feel good. From indulgent wines to croissant candles, here is our curated list of the best ways to be happy this month.

THE BEST SHOPPING

Pour the wine, light the candle and get in your coziest crewneck because here is what’s on our shopping list.

VINO VIBES

Sometimes all it takes is a glass of wine. FRĒDA Woman, Cat Chen started Dulan Wines with a desire to create deeper connections. With each bottle, she hopes to bring people together through a love for gathering and we couldn’t agree more. Personal fave: the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon.

WEAR HAPPY

You’ve probably seen this brand before since it is wildly popular by now, but it just fit. Started in 2017, Madhappy is defined simply as clothing for optimists featuring a growing collection of sweatshirts, tees, knits, and anything else you want to get comfy at home. We’re currently obsessing over “The Bow Collection” and can’t wait to layer it under an oversized blazer.

LIGHT DESSERTS

Nothing sets the mood quite like a candle, but what about one that smells like your favorite morning pastry? Founded in Paris, Overose is a luxury perfume house offering an overtly modern and artsy aesthetic dripping in spontaneity. We can’t get enough of their croissant candle and think it might make you smile, too.

THE BEST READS

From comedic heartbreak and the woman who understood dopamine dressing to another substack for your inbox, this is our bookshelf this month.

LAUGH THROUGH THE HEARTBREAK

We laughed. We cried. We wish we could read it for the first time again. There is very little Dolly Alderton does that we don’t love (if anything), but this book topped the list of our favorites. Following a comedian through his recent breakup, it’s about what draws us together, pulls us apart, the pain of growing up and the stories we tell about our lives. Highly recommend.

THE QUEEN OF FEEL-GOOD FASHION

A life well lived, a life well dressed–that was Iris Apel. Legendary designer and fashion icon, this woman understood the meaning of getting dressed to feel good. As she recently died at the age of 102, it had us looking up all her best quotes and stumbling upon her 2020 essay on how fashion can change your life.

BECAUSE LIFE ISN’T JOYLESS

Think of anything health, and we promise Rosamund Dean has covered it with a playful tone. Journalist, author, integrative nutrition health coach and breast cancer survivor on a mission to future-proof my body, Rosamund knows a thing about or two about happiness. Her substack, “Well Well Well” is for anyone who wants to be healthier, while also enjoying life. We can’t wait to receive it every week!

THE BEST ENTERTAINMENT

Relatable podcasts, meditation motivation and the happiest guy around is how we’re entertaining ourselves these days.

THE MAYHEM OF MOTHERHOOD

Mothers are the true superheroes in life, and FRĒDA Women, Sarah Wright Olsen and Teresa Palmer know it. Their podcast, “The Mother Daze,” is a refreshing and real look in to the wild and wonderful days of Motherhood. We never miss an episode!

CLEAR YOUR MIND

Love it or not–meditation can change your day in an instant. We go back to it every few months and step away from it too, but have found Headspace to the best app for beginners and those who never seem to find the time to sit down and clear your mind.

THIS GUY KNOWS HAPPY

We’ve gotten into a habit of watching NYTimes’s “Op-doc” series and this one stopped us in our tracks. Two decades ago Mario Salcedo went on a cruise—and never came back. Lance Oppenheim beautifully documents Mario’s cruise life where he found lifelong happiness. Quirky and fun, this is a must watch.

THE BEST OF FRĒDA

We’ve got a lot going on this month and wanted to celebrate a few things that brought smiles to our faces.

THE BIG APPLE

We made our way to NYC for a very special trip connecting with our community. It was such a special evening and we just can’t stop radiating happiness from the whole week.

UPSTATE HANGS

Our friend Jenn Streicher was kind enough to let us spend the day at her store, Duchess. We brough along our latest collection and had incredible conversations with all our friends upstate.
