SEPTEMBER 2023: THE BEST (CURATED BY US)

THE BEST OF FASHION MONTH

Streets are bustling. Calendars are stacked. Fashion is thriving. The fall grind is back and we’re in motion for our favorite season. From new brands to wearing the biggest trends, here is our curated list of the best things for fashion month.

THE BEST SHOPPING

Reimagined denim, modern tailoring and vintage essentials are on our fall shopping list.

NEW TAILORING

We’re still on the tailoring train and we’re always looking for brands that modernize the classic feel. Based in Spain, Cordera is the brainchild of a sister duo, Mónica and María, who strive to create timeless wardrobe essentials through pure design. We’ve got the Tailoring Crossed Pants and Sculpted Top in our carts.

DENIM OBSESSION

We love love love denim and are a little shocked we haven’t featured this favorite. STILL HERE is a small denim brand based in New York City that got its start painting the back of jeans in a fun way. Since then, they’ve explored new denim cuts that we can’t get enough of for fall (see the Cowgirl in multiple of our campaigns).

VINTAGE FINDS

Some of our best vintage shopping is done on Etsy, and Keep Earth Vintage is the most recent shop we keep returning to. Based in Austin, their curation of pre-loved items has various essentials (oxfords, blazers, trench coats) that will instantly refresh your fall wardrobe.

THE BEST READS

From Scandinavian style inspo to the biography of a fashion icon, here is what’s on our reading shelf this month.

FRESH FASHION FACES

Street style will forever be our inspiration (especially yours!) and we love it when our style icons feature vintage pieces. Writer Irene Kim interviews a group of fashion personalities who love an eclectic high-low mix we’ll be emulating all season.

SCANDINAVIAN TAKEOVER

It’s official: Copenhagen Fashion Week has captured our hearts. We’ve always been into the cool girl aesthetic of our Scandinavian friends, but this year really showed us what it means to not take your style too seriously and go for what you love. Here’s Grazia’s round-up of the best street style from this year’s CPHFW.

ICONIC CHARACTERS

Fashion month has us looking back at some of the greats, so enter Bill Cunningham. One of fashion’s most iconic photographers, he was known widely for his work on the streets–or more specifically, on his bicycle. His memoir came out in 2018, but we revisited it this month and loved every second reliving the bohemia of New York in its fashion heyday.

THE BEST ENTERTAINMENT

New listens, current following obsessions and getting on-trend are how we’re currently entertaining ourselves.

Closet interview podcast

CLOSET INTERVIEWS

For every walk and drive, we’re listening to “This Old Thing.” Coined The Queen of Thrift, Day Garnett looks back at her guests’ most memorable outfits while going through the fabric of their lives. We recommend you start with Sienna Miller and Poppy Delevigne!

GET ON TREND

Whether you’re shopping in your own closet or looking for something new, Net-a-Porter’s fashion director, Kay Barron takes us through the current obsessions and how to start wearing them now in seven minutes. We’re investing in the red trend with our JADA Ballet Flat and a sweater for a timeless statement.

When we’re not shopping on the streets, we’re looking to Instagram to curate our closets. Here are some new women we recently started following who do a good job tagging what they’re wearing: @hollymerecedes, @vicmontanari, @lizzyhadfield and @lillysisto. There’s something for every closet and every personality.
