WELCOME TO ‘ON THE BULLETIN’

A SPACE FOR CURRENT HAPPENINGS

We’ve always admired coffee shop bulletin boards. We love how they are a beautifully chaotic curation of all the current happenings in the community. A platform for people to share their creative projects, side hustles and ideas with pride.

So, we’ve decided to create our own bulletin board where we can share the cool things our community has been working on. That means you too! We’d love to hear what you’re up to, and if you’re willing to share drop us a line at community@fredasalvador.com

CURRENTLY ON THE BULLETIN:

BRANDI SELLERZ + HER NEW BOOK

“ON THRIVING”

TELL US HOW YOUR BOOK CAME TO BE.

I wanted to write the book that I needed. I really wanted to write a practical manual or guide for how to navigate our toughest yet so very common moments in a useful way. We will all experience what I call the Four Life Labors of relationships (with self and others), mental health, grief, and the reality of being othered.

WHAT DID YOU LEARN ABOUT YOURSELF WHILE WRITING IT?

I learned that I truly can do hard things. Writing a book is no easy task, as it requires a lot of focus, quiet time, and time spent away in my room so I could write. It was tough work digging into places and memories I hadn’t touched in years. However, it was also healing.

WHAT DO YOU HOPE PEOPLE TAKE AWAY FROM READING IT?

I hope that people begin to LIVE THEIR LIFE. That they grab hold of the reality that we don’t have to continue to live in a perpetual state of survival. We are worthy of thriving.
