Power Woman: Zoe Winkler

Please share who you are and what you do professionally?

I am a mom of 3 boys 7,4 and 2. In July 2018 I co-founded an organization called This Is About Humanity with Elsa Collins and Yolanda Walther Meade. We are a  community dedicated to raising awareness and funds for the families and children who have been separated at the Mexican border.

Being a female entrepreneur is a powerful thing. Can you please share a few words of wisdom/advice to someone that wants to start her own company?

I honestly have zero experience in this space. I was a teacher for 12 years before deciding to be a stay at home mom. When the family separation began I just knew I had to do something and had no idea what it was going to be or how that was going to look. I am learning as I go and I make mistakes but I keep trying. Someone I love and admire said to me "When you know better you do better" and I live by that.

What are you most proud of?

My 3 boys! Ace, Jules and Gus and that I am setting an example for them to stand up for what is right.

What has been the most significant in making you the woman you are today?

Wow. That is tough. I had parents that told me over and over that I could do anything and be anything. I think when you hear that you believe it.

Describe your personal style.  Do you have a certain look that is your go-to for power dressing?

I am a jeans girl and I LIVE for the Great sweatshirts. I don't really follow trends. I wear what I feel comfortable in and as long as I feel good then I don't care what I am wearing.

What are you reading right now? What are you listening to?

Shannon Watts' book! I am here for Selena Gomez's new song.

Where do you find inspiration and how do you stay inspired?

In the amazing women that I have surrounding me!
