In the spirit of the holiday season we hosted an intimate gathering at our LA store, The EDIT by FREDA SALVADOR + Janessa Leone. To celebrate the merging of our two brands we invited visual artist, Maggie Carson Romano, to transform our shared space. Ramono brought our hats, handbags and footwear to life by pulling single elements from context to express both their strength and vulnerability. The evening began with cocktails and a walk through of Ramono’s visual installation and then dinner was served al fresco compliments of our PLATFORM neighbor, The Cannibal.
You can view the Maggie Carson Ramono’s installation and shop both FREDA SALVADOR + Janessa Lenoe’s RESORT 17 Collections at our shared space at Platform today through December 31, 2016.
The inspiration behind the visual installation:
“In this piece, seven panels of silk, satin and wool form a shifting canvas, floating within the space. The canvas shifts in a balance between light and weight, anchored by the products it shrouds below. The panels are positioned to partially obscure the space, and in turn, reveal the elegance and simplicity of the product designs. When visually removed from the context of the store, the products are singled out and given new roles as sculptures, their lines and contours offered forward for aesthetic study and appreciation.” – Maggie Carson Ramon, Visual Artist
